laparoscopic endoscopic surgery journal(1)-laparoscopic surgery concept

Definition and basic principle of laparoscopic surgery

Endoscopic surgery refers to the completion of surgical inspection or operation with the assistance of endoscopy. The endoscopy used refers to a rod-shaped optical lens, which is divided into two types: inspection scope and operation scope.

The center of the inspection mirror is a group of cylindrical optical lenses, the outer circumference of which is wrapped around the optical fiber. One end of the object is called the objective lens, and the other end is called the eyepiece. The inspection mirror has different outer diameters to suit different operation needs.

The difference between the operating mirror and the inspection mirror is based on the structure of the inspection mirror, and the name is given by the addition of pipes that can pass through the operating equipment beside the cylindrical optical mirror. Laparoscopes are named for different places where they are inserted. For example, they are called laparoscopy when they are inserted into the abdominal cavity; they are called cystoscopes when they are inserted into the bladder; they are called arthroscopy when they are inserted into the joints.
